Janet Marie Hornby

Janet M. Hornby, age 77 passed away on July 11, 2019 in Redlands, Ca., following being diagnosed with kidney disease. She leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Richard R. Hornby. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter F. Watson and mother, Ella M. Watson. Janet was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on February 16, 1942. She attended school in Mitchell and upon graduation from high school, she was accepted to Dakota Wesleyan University where she graduated in three years with a degree in education. She had a five-year career teaching in Minnesota and in California. She developed and interest in dogs, and through her life, she had a number of sight hounds, most particularly whippets and Italian Greyhounds. She was a lifelong Lutheran. The Memorial Service will be Tuesday, July 30, 2019, 11:00 am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Redlands, California. The burial will follow immediately after at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
