His death is precedented by his mother Margaret Selby Brice and his father Roland Dale Brice.
Jeff was born on June 29th, 1954 in Ventura California to his mother Margaret Selby Brice and Alan Burton Mitchell. He was later raised by and sealed to Roland Dale Brice. He graduated from Nordhoff High school in 1972 and Brigham Young University in 1982 with his Masters degree in Audiology. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Philippines from 1973-1975. He married Julee on July 14th, 1976.
Jeff was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as the President of the Young Mens organization on both the ward and stake level multiple times, overseeing anywhere from 25 to 200 young men between the ages of 12-18.
Jeff also served as the bishop of the LDS Church Young Single Adult Ward, working specifically with young people ages 18-31 for five years from 2010 to 2015. He had 50-60 young men and women in his home every single week for activities, meals, and talking. He even performed ten weddings.
Jeff was also highly involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He had positions in every level of scouting and had also gotten involved in the upper levels of scouting, serving as the Greyback District Commissioner from 2000-2004, and again from 2016-2018. He served for six years as Eagle Coordinator for the Greyback District from 2004-2010. He has been recognized for his years of service to the Boy Scouts, earning his Silver Beaver in 2000. Since then he has won so many additional awards that he was eventually given an award called the "Silver Rat," which is what they give to scout leaders who have won every other award Scouters can think of!
The City of Redlands recognized Jeff as one of the recipients of the Redlands Heroes Award at the State of the City on June 21st, 2019. These awards recognize individuals who have performed voluntary activities that address a community need or enhance the quality of life for Redlands residents, and simply demonstrate acts of generosity and kindness.
Jeff had an incredible love for not just his family but all people whom he came in contact with. Many considered him their "2nd father" and anyone who met him, even once, became a friend. Everyone felt loved and accepted by Papa Brice, Bishop Brice, Brother Brice. His unexpected loss has left a hole in the hearts of too many to count.
Private church services will be held for just the family.
