Jessie R. Ortiz

Jessie R. Ortiz, born January 26, 1925 in Mentone, California died peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on Sunday, September 5, 2010. After a 13 year battle with Alzheimer s. She was a loving mother to all her children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fred Ortiz (1991); and her daughter, Annie Escalante (2009). She is survived by her children, Josie (Tomas) Roque, Connie Ortiz, Jessica (Tom) Lopez, Fred (Mary) Ortiz, Carlos Ortiz, Rosalie (Frank) Coyazo, Phyllis (Louie) Cruz, and Marie (Paul) Pierce. 23 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Gloria Alvarado, Phyllis Leon, and Rosa Gonzales and brothers, Tino Ramirez and Lupe Vasquez. She will be dearly missed by many family and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with Rosary at 6:00pm at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands, CA. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:00am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1214 Columbia Street, Redlands, CA with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Redlands, CA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to VNA Hospice of San Bernardino or Alzheimer Association. Family under the care of Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Redlands, CA.
