John Wagner

John Wagner, a lifelong resident of the Mentone/Redlands area, went to his eternal home on October 6th, 2016, at the age of 95. John was born in Redlands in 1920 to Andrew and Jessie Wagner. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean (Van Grouw) Wagner and lovingly remembered by six of his seven sons and their wives -
Gary Wagner of Redlands, CA; Don & Margie Wagner of Clay Center, KS; Steve (deceased) & Janice Wagner of Yucaipa, CA; Roger & Becky Wagner of Redlands, CA; Jim & Janice Wagner of Yucaipa, CA; Paul & Sandi Wagner of Yucaipa, CA; and Doug & Patty Wagner of Mentone, CA; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and many more that called him Grandpa. John was preceded in death by his son, Steve Wagner, his parents and all of his siblings.
He was a World War II veteran, 32nd Red Arrow Division of the US Army. He was a humble man with a heart for service. He loved his Savior, his church, and his family more than himself. Emmerson Bartlett handling arrangements and services will be held at The River Christian Reformed Church, October 14 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Redlands Christian School.
