John Zenon Leon

John Z. Leon, 70 years old, son of Juan H. and Phyllis R. Leon, was born in Redlands on March 30, 1950 and passed away April 22, 2020 in Redlands. He had one son Chris Leon Aich, four sisters: Lucille Lozano, Patricia Mejia, Sally Hernandez and Virginia Gautier. John was preceded in death of his younger brother Lorenzo P. Leon.
Being raised in Mentone, John attended Mentone Elementary, Redlands Jr. High, and Redlands High School where he was the Drum Major in his senior year and a member of Class of 1968.
John graduated from San Bernardino Valley College and went on to graduate from Cal State Fullerton. He joined the Peace Corp. and was assigned to teach English Classes in South Korea (high school level) for two years. From South Korea John went to Japan to teach English to businessmen.
When John came home he started teaching at Los Angeles Unified School District. After 30 years of teaching John retired. At the time of his retirement he was teaching History at Van Nuys High School.
Due to the Corona Virus the celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
