Jorge Santiago Schumperli, age 76, passed away on Wednesday January 8, 2025, in his home in San Bernardino, California. He was surrounded by his wife and family at the time of his passing. Jorge was born on January 27, 1948, in Lima, Peru. The son of Santiago Jorge Schumperli and Olga Terencia Soria, Jorge was a man dedicated to his family, his church, the Boy Scouts of America and learning. Jorge graduated from Meliton Carvajal High School in Lima, Peru. A devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jorge served a mission in Montevideo, Uruguay. Jorge graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria, in Lima, Peru, where he majored in Civil Engineering. He also completed studies in Applied Mathematics at the University of Utah and Cal Poly, Pomona. In 1973, Jorge married Graciela Nadramia Murphy and had six children with her, Jacob (Deceased) , Vanessa, Jonathan, Veronica, Valerie and Jared. Jorge had a lifelong commitment to the Boy Scouts of America and was involved with the organization for over 50 years. He was a Scout Master for Troop 741 and served for many years as a District Commissioner for the San Gabriel Valley District.

As a young engineer, Jorge worked for the Peruvian Ministry of Fisheries. He then decided to make a change and become a computer analyst and went to work for the Bolsa de Valores de Lima (The Stock Market) and later worked as a computer analyst at the LDS Distribution Center in Lima, Peru. In 1985, he immigrated to the United States looking for a better life for his family. In the United States he worked for Intermountain Health Care, in Salt Lake City, Utah and Hoag Memorial Hospital, in Newport Beach, California.

Jorge is survived by his wife of 51 years, Graciela, his children, Vanessa, Jonathan, Veronica, Valerie, and Jared, his grandchildren, Isaac, Eli, Elyse, Jacob, Adam, Joshua, Caleb and Andrew, his Daughters-In-Law Helen and Mayra, Sons-In-Law Armando, and Justin, his sisters Gloria, Miriam and Heidi, and many other cousins, nephews and nieces.

Jorge was a man of deep faith whose commitment to loving everyone touched many lives. He loved to serve the church and his community. Above all, he loved his family and friends. A Celebration of Life for Jorge will be held on Saturday February 8, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Rialto Stake Center, located at 1375 North Willow Ave, Rialto, CA 92376 at 11:00AM.
