Joseph Dario Benavides, Jr.

Our beloved Joseph Dario Benavides Jr., 33, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2018 in Redlands.  He was born on May 28, 1985 to Miki LeMay and J. Dario Benavides in San Bernardino.
Joseph attended Kingsbury Elementary School, Moore Middle School and graduated from Redlands East Valley High School.  He attended and graduated from University of California Riverside with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and a minor in History.
As a child, he played many sports, Baseball, Soccer, Hockey, and his favorite, Football.  He spent many years at the Community Field as a Bulldog and a Terrier for Junior All American Football.  As a teenager he skateboarded with friends.  He was one of the competitors at the first skateboard competition at the Brickyard Skate Park.  He started his traveling passion as he traveled with People to People in Middle School traveling to Europe. He later visited Hawaii, the Bahamas and Texas.  He continued to travel as an adult to various places in the United States to visit with friends who had moved away.  He was fortunate to sometimes travel with the love of his life Stacy, whom he loved with all his heart, as she did him.  He was a huge Dodger fan, going to the games every chance he got.  He loved that his Grandpa Joe had helped build the Dodger Stadium in 1961.
Joseph worked at UCR while attending college.  He then worked for AllSaints, a British fashion retailer for several years in Beverly Hills.  He was a Field Auto Technician with All State Insurance Company for the past five years.
He is survived by his Mother, Miki LeMay, his Dad Paul LeMay, his Brother, Ben LeMay, his Sister, Candace Stang (Andy), Grandpa Joe Benavides, Grandma Sachi Anderson, Aunt Kimmy Benavides, Uncle Nino Benavides, all of Redlands;  Aunt Elaine LeMay, of Yucaipa; Uncle John LeMay, of San Bernardino, as well as many other family members and friends.
Services will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands on Saturday, January 19th, 2019.  Visitation begins at 11 a.m., Services at 12 p.m. followed by a reception.  On Friday, January 18th, 2019, visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Graveside services are to be held Saturday, January 26th, 2019 at Hillside Memorial Park in Redlands at 11 a.m.
Joseph leaves behind many family and friends that will always love and cherish his memory.
