Josephine Francis Patzke

Josephine S. Patzke passed away peacefully on September 23, 2015. She was born in Salinas, California on February 19, 1927. Her parents had come from the Azores Islands off the coast of Portugal to give their children a better life in the United States. She was one of nine children. Josephine "Josie"graduated from Gonzales High School in Gonzales California which is near Salinas. She was married to Edward Palmer in January 1947. Edward passed away in 1960. They had four children, Cynthia (67), Gayle (64), Teri (61) and Matthew (56). In 1962, she meet Fred Patzke and after a two year courtship they married in August 1964. At the time of her passing Fred and Josie had been married for 51 years. She did everything for her children and was truly dedicated to her husband and family. When Fred retired, they traveled in several states and Mexico where they formed and met wonderful friends. Josie will be deeply missed. Josephine's celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California at 12:00pm.
