Katharina Varady

Katharina Varady, 87, died May 30, 2010 in Yucaipa. She was born on December 15, 1922 in Yugoslavia and immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 with her family. They settled in Yucaipa in 1959. The Varady s owned and operated a chicken ranch on Avenue H until 1980. She was a resident of Yucaipa for 51 years. Katharina loved working in the garden and always had a bouquet of her roses on the table. She enjoyed baking special desserts for her friends and the holidays. She was a parish member of St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church and a participant in the German community events. She is survived by her two sons Jakob and his wife Barbara Varady of Monterey Park, CA; Joseph and his wife Mary Varady of Carson City, NV; two grandchildren: Alex Varady of Walnut Creek, CA and Andrea Misiner of Escondido, CA; two great-granddaughters; one sister Elizabeth Mueller and niece Adelheid Neuser of Wetzlar, Germany. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 12687 California Street, Yucaipa, CA followed with internment at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, CA. In lieu of lowers the family wishes a donation be made to your favorite local charity in Katharina Varady s memory.
