Kathleen Marian Kathy Dodson

Kathleen "Kathy" Dodson, age 66, a resident of Grand Terrace for 41 years, passed away on June 27, 2009 with her family by her beside due to complications from Parkinson's disease. Kathy was born May 10, 1943 in Klemme, Iowa, and moved to Long Beach, California as a teenager where she graduated from Poly High School and met and married her husband of 46 years, Henry C. Dodson. She was a homemaker, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her husband, her family, and caring for her five grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Henry; two daughters, Lynette Salamanca of Grand Terrace, and Lisa Paprocki (Gary) of Redlands; five grandchildren, Larissa and Phillip Salamanca, and Christopher, Melissa, and Megan Paprocki; two sisters, Beverly Morrison (Dennis) of Yucaipa, and Audrey Olson (Merlyn) of Santa Maria; one brother, Hershel Lemke (Pat) of Rough and Ready; and several nephews, nieces and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Edith Lemke, and her brother, Gordon Lemke. Kathy was a very loving, caring, and thoughtful person who enjoyed gardening, her beloved animals (Gretchen, Itsy, and Belker), and devoting her life to her family. She as a very special person and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A private memorial to celebrate Kathy's life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at her daughter's home in Redlands. Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
