Kaye Edwin Neil, a Redlands native, died on March 12, 2023, in his home, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and Parkinsonian dementia at the age of 90 with family at his bedside.
Born on December 27, 1932, to Wilford and Nora (Stewart) Neil. He had four elder sisters Joyce Hardy, Mary Lee Reynolds, Jo Ann Moore, and Betty Dawn Floyd, who all preceded him in death. He graduated from Newman High School in June 1951. He enlisted in the Navy in February 1952 and was stationed in Hawaii until his return to Redlands in December 1953, and was discharged from the Navy in May 1957.
He met Patsy Ann Boslough at the age of 13 at ballroom dancing classes and they met again at the age of 16 while square dancing at Sylvan Park. They were married in June 1954.
He graduated from the University of Redlands in June 1958.
He worked for Dr. Leon Lapides at the Western Ag Lab, which was located on Redlands Boulevard, for greater than 46 years until its closing in December 1990. He worked at Loran Nightscaping as a Manager from December 1990 until his retirement in December 2002.
He was a part owner of Grandma's Treasures which opened in February 1972, and found one of his hobbies which was refinishing furniture and building furniture.
He coached his sons' in baseball and football, and was a member of the Redlands Bench Warmers and a past president.
He was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Parish.
He is Jurvived by his daughter Nandy Neil-McCorpick; sons Kent and Terry (wile Angela);
Brandsons Brett and Ryan; brother-in-law Richard Harlan (wife Lynette); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy in 2001, and his son-in-law Phil McCormick.
There will be a Graveside Service at Hillside Memorial Park on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
