Larry Gerald Lockwood

February 24, 1944 — April 21, 2015

Larry Gerald Lockwood, surrounded by family, passed from this life April 21, 2015. Born February 24, 1944 in Corona, CA and raised among the orange groves, Larry moved to Yucaipa in 1974 after opening the Del Taco near Second Street, which he and business partner Dave Dorcas owned and operated for 30 years. Larry is remembered most for his dedication to his savior Jesus Christ, Rae Lockwood (wife of 39 years), Brenda Lockwood (wife of nearly one year), his children and grandchildren, his extended family and his friends, and the people at Wildwood Calvary Chapel. Larry enjoyed hot rods, occasionally pretending to be a spy, teasing those he liked, talking to strangers, and riding in other people's boats. His final year with us included a battle with ALS, which slowed only his body, not his influence. He's still praying for others, even if he can only speak a few words before being overcome with emotion. Larry is survived by wife Brenda Lockwood; daughter Beth Morabito and son-in-law Keith Morabito of Beaumont; son Rich Lockwood and daughter-in-law Kristi Lockwood of Nolensville, TN; sister Judy LaBlue of Walker; and grandchildren Cameron and Alec Morabito and Ryan, Samantha, Zack, and Grace Lockwood. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:30 A.M. at Wildwood Calvary Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Wildwood Calvary Chapel.
