Lee Ann Hampton

February 3, 1950 — May 29, 2018

Lee Ann Hampton died on May 29, 2018 in Redlands, CA at the age of 68 after a long battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Jerry and son Jason. Lee Ann was born on February 3, 1950 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to father Lawrence Joseph Hebert, Jr. and mother Helen Lee Hebert, who predeceased her. She grew up in a loving family with one sister. She graduated from Redlands High School in 1968 where she met the love of her life.

Lee Ann married Jerry Hampton on August 16, 1969. They remained in Redlands for the next 49 years where they lived and raised their son, Jason.

She had a passion for cooking and delighted her family and friends with her favorite recipes. Rigatoni with meatballs was her specialty. She loved the beach and camping with her close-knit group of friends. She loved to travel, especially trips to Germany, journeying through Bavaria and spending time there with her very dear friend, Rosie. She will be remembered for the wealth of handmade, crocheted blankets she made with love for her family and friends.

When diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2012, she remained dedicated in her work as an Assistant Teacher at Valley Preparatory School in Redlands where she worked for 31 years until she could no longer work due to her illness. Even throughout her final months, never a complaint was heard. With her husband's meticulous, selfless care, she died with dignity and grace.

Lee Ann is survived by her husband Jerry Hampton and son Jason Hampton (Heather), Grandchildren Brenden, Owen, Logan and Maura; as well as her sister, Laurie Beth Varner (Duane), Step Mother Patricia Hebert; Sister In Law, Kathy Herzberger (Neil), and Brother In Law, Thomas Hampton (Theresa), Aunts, Betsy Gosserand and Marvel Hebert of Louisiana and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and Grandson, Liam Hampton.

The family would especially like to thank Candace Acosta and Rosario Ameriz, VNA Hospice & Palliative Care of Southern California for their loving care throughout her illness as well as Deacon Mike Bellinder of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Redlands, for his spiritual guidance.
