Our beloved Lee Weston Wenger was born December 4, 1926 in Vancouver, Washington, and passed away, on September 22, 2024 in Redlands, California. His parents were Verda Morrow Wenger and Samuel (Roy) Wenger.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon (Shari) Wenger, sister Rose Marie Whitman, his children Cheryl DeLozier, Barbara Atkinson (Jay), Diane Wenger, Wes Wenger (Rosie), his grandchildren Jennifer, Jeremy (Tanya), Haley, William, and his great-grandchildren Maya and Julian. He is predeceased by his former wife Mary Lou Wenger, Gary Whitman (brother) and Phil Delozier (son-in-law). From Dec 4, 1943, to May 20, 1946, Lee served in the U.S. Navy as a 2nd Class Boatswain Mate in the Philippines during World War II. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign, American Area Campaign, Philippine Liberation and World War II Victory Medals.

Lee started his own plumbing business in 1953. He built apartments in Cupertino and Campbell while running his plumbing business. He later had a motorcycle shop where he built racing motors, boats and cars. He loved the adventure of racing motorcycles, and outboards in Classes B & C, along with hard-top cars. He had a motorcycle racing team in the 60’s. He had Mark Brelsford racing for him, and later Mark became the AMA flat track champion.

Lee raced flat track motorcycles at the Belmont Raceway. He raced drag boats at the Oakland Estuary. He built a drag boat in 1981 (Wenger Express #560) that became a world record holder and an NHBA Champion. He was in the Gold Wing cycle club, and he and Shari toured the U.S. He was in the Air Stream Club and he and Shari toured the U.S. Later, in his spare time, he snowmobiled, jet skied, 4-wheeled in the Rubicon, and did dune buggying in the desert. Lee and Shari enjoyed touring part of the Western U.S. in a motor home with some members of the Elks Club. He loved all things outdoors. We will truly miss Lee.
