Lena and her brother Frank were orphaned very young. Though Mom endured as difficult a childhood as can be imagined, she had a wonderful, infectious sense of humor. Though Mom was forced to leave school at age 14, she had a deep and life-long love of learning. Whether it was mastering the keyboard, painting, or the computer, Mom loved to have something new to learn on her horizon. But most of all, Lena was all about family. She was deeply grateful to Jesus Christ, for giving her a wonderful husband, Gordon, and 3 deeply loved children, Terry, Donna, and Tracy. Because of her
big heart, Mom happily extended that love to daughters-in law Gloria and Maureen, adopted daughter Annie Carrillo, and her grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Crystal,Vanessa, and Brandon. Mom loved all those she met, from neighbors, life-long friends Goldie Darby and Bill Monteith, her neighbors and her beloved church family at 1st Congregational Church in Redlands, California.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2014 at 11:00am at the First Congregational Church of Redlands, 2 West Olive Avenue, Redlands, California
