Leroy Rickard Jr., age 62, resident of Murrieta CA, passed away on Sunday November 30. 2014. Better known to his family as Rickey, he was born to parents Leroy Rickard Sr. and Norma Rickard. He survived by his sisters Ruth Miser, Nancy Brickert, Sharon Megyes, and dear friend Nicole Scherer.
After graduating from Sierra Vista High School with a GED Rickey joined the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1972 after time served on his ship as a landing crewman in Vietnam. He lived his life the way he wanted and believed in his rights and the peoples rights. Rickey loved chocolate, coffee, cookies, horses and always had a faithful dog by his side. He was a great writer and loved to write poetry, but would laugh at some and spit in another's eye for saying so. He also loved the rain just like his mother. Rickey called himself ‘The Mountain Man’ and he was true to that. He definitely belonged in the wild west. Rickey has a lot of nieces and nephews, too many to count he would say. Even though he didn't get to see them he made a huge impression on each one. Probably more then he ever knew.
R.I.P Rickey you are missed and loved.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at 1:00pm at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA.
