Liangshu Yue

April 10, 1932 — November 1, 2020

"On November 1, 2020, LiangShu Yue passed away at the age of 88.

LiangShu Yue was born on April 10, 1932 in Chongqing, China. In the 1950s, during China's transition, she was one of the leading activists of female rights. Later on, she married YanTao Li in 1961. In the following years she gave birth to two daughters, XiaoQing Li and XiaoHong Li. For the next 25+ years, she served as the principal of one of the leading preschools in Chongqing. During her retirement, she worked on education charities and cultivated the next generation of educators.

In October 2005, LiangShu immigrated to America to live with her younger daughter and grandson, then earning her citizenship five years later. In 2013, she suffered a stroke and would continue to be hospitalized for the next few years. In August 2014, she was given surgery for her stomach cancer by Dr. Wisam Haddad. In 2015, she settled in Creekside Care Center. In her final years, she remained very social and positive. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading and reciting the bible, singing church hymns, and spending time with children, elderly, and animals.

To her family, LiangShu was a strong, loving, and kind woman. She taught her children to always be magnanimous and respectful of others. Whenever they felt down, she encouraged them to get back up. Her family is proud to have a woman like LiangShu as their mother and grandmother. Though her family did not wish to see her go, they know she is in a better place with God.

She is survived by her two daughters, XiaoQing Li and XiaoHong Li, her granddaughter Wendi Kang, and grandson Emery Wu.

May God's love bring peace to her soul."
