Linda Brigitte O’Donnell, 60, of Redlands, CA formally of Little Rock, AR, died peacefully at her home on July 14. Born November 7, 1957 in Nancy, France to Edward and Brigitte Williams.
She received her Bachelors of Accounting from Kansas State University (Go Wildcats!) and later her Certification in Public Accounting. She put those skills to use at Dillard’s, Inc. where she was a dedicated team member for over 25 years ultimately serving as the Director of Accounting. There she formed lifetime friendships and further developed her love for fashion. Although she was a fierce business woman, Linda was a softy at heart. She cared deeply for others and was a generous supporter of women’s organizations. She was notorious for needing a whole box of tissues at movies especially those Hallmark ones.
The loves of her life were her girls Elizabeth and Katherine. Her dedication to them was limitless; instilling inner strength, displaying divine grace, and modeling the importance of good skin care: “Do you wanna be peaches n’ cream girls, or bacon n’ toast?” Additionally, her beloved Yorkies were an endless supply of love and laugher. As an admirer of art, Linda filled up her walls with bright colorful paintings even professionally framing and hanging her children’s artwork in her home. She expanded her love of color and beauty outside as a brilliant grower of flowers inviting wildlife with her unique birdhouses, which she collected from her travels.
Linda is preceded in death by her father Edward Williams. She is survived by her mother Brigitte Williams of Redlands, CA; two daughters Elizabeth (Derek) Hays of Tampa, FL, Katherine (Scott) Mayer of St. Louis, MO; grandchild Madeline Mayer of St. Louis, MO; siblings Joseph (Kathe) Williams of Spokane, WA, Cynthia (Richard) Reeley of Redlands, CA, Nicole Williams of Yucaipa, CA, Mark (Lora) Williams of Boston, MA; Niece –Andrea Williams; Nephews – Alex Williams, Jarrad Reeley, River and West Williams.
Linda spent her last seven years in Redlands, California with her family caring for her and going through this journey together. A special thanks to the compassionate caregivers who were with her and her family until the very end. In memory of Linda the family asks for donations to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation(www.alzinfo.org). Private services will be held on Thursday July 19th.
