Lisa Michele Williams, 54, passed away on Saturday, October 17th surrounded by loved ones following a courageous battle against breast cancer. Her strong faith and bravery, exemplified by the verse that became her motto "Fight the good fight" 1 Timothy 6:12, inspired all who knew her.
Lisa was born on April 25, 1966 in Arcadia, California to John Acosta and Sharon McCoy Billado. Following her parents divorce, she grew up spending time in each of their homes and surrounded by an extended family who loved her deeply. A graduate of Arcadia High School class of 1984, the soundtrack of her life became 80s music, and no one could out-dance Lisa when it played. Regardless of the music or setting, Lisa was the consummate "life of the party" and the magnet that made connections at any gathering.
Her zest for life and adventurous spirit took her to live in Switzerland where she lived and worked for several years after high school. Her passion for history, travel, food and entertaining were nurtured and cultivated during these years. Upon her return to the U.S., she began a career in petroleum sales. It was in this capacity that she met her soulmate Wayne. They celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary together on October 10th just a week before her passing.
Lisa openly shared that her lifes greatest legacy and proudest accomplishment was being a devoted mom to her son Matthew, born in 2006. She embraced every moment they shared. While she loved him with every fiber of her being, she had a boundless supply to share with her vast circle of friends and family. Her compassion, concern and contagious laughter will live on in their hearts forever.
In addition to husband Wayne and son Matt, Lisa is survived by mother Sharon McCoy Billado; father John Acosta; sisters Cindy Zamora (Danny) and Amy Koester (Cameron); and an extended family she adored.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the service for Lisa will be private for immediate family only. They wish to extend heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of support and prayers. In lieu of flowers and meals, please consider a donation in Lisas honor to the Childhood Cancer Foundation www.ccfsocal.org.
