Lloyd Eugene Woods or Genie as he was affectionely known by family and friends was the 4th child born to Henreitta & Rosco Woods on November 11, 1931 in Hamilton, Ohio. At an early age, the family migrated to California where Genie attended school. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served honorably into his discharged in 1953. From his enlistment in the Air Force, Genie aquired the love of travel and in 1989 fulfilled his dream to visit Africa. Along with his love of travel, he was an avid Pinochle player who participated in hundreds if not thousands of games and tournaments. When he wasnt playing pinochle or traveling, he could be found enjoying a horse race or bartending. Genie was very outgoing. And when engaging any of these, Genie floushied! Genie would be the most comical, entertaining and the brightest in the room. He was a remarkable father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Though strict, Lloyd was loving and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In his passing, he leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Eugenia & Shirley Woods. Another daughter, Victoria Woods who preceded him in death; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, 1 brother and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1:00pm at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Redlands, California.
