Lorna Belle Mckune

Lorna Belle McKune was born on December 5, 1932 in Vinton, Iowa to Jessie Leona & Walter Lee Kohl.  She had two sisters, LaVonne Jeanette and Doris Virginia.
Lorna moved to Norwalk, CA when she was seventeen and graduated from Excelsior High school in 1951.
She married John McKune on January 17, 1951, and one year later they moved to Yucaipa, CA where she has resided until she went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2018.
Lorna and her husband John raised five daughters and ran a construction business in Yucaipa until his passing in 1977.  She later became a realtor and worked until her retirement, after which she worked at her daughter Dawn’s day care center in Yucaipa.
Lorna was a woman of faith.  She supported her husband in his ministry as a pastor and was herself devoted to prayer and reading the Bible.
Lorna has five daughters, fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Rebekah Sue Gribling and her husband Rick, of Suffolk, VA Rachel Moreland and her husband James LuCinda Lou Spencer and her husband Erle, of North Hills, CA LTC John Poole and his wife Joleen, son Andrew LTC Daniel Poole and his wife Charity Jeremy Poole and his wife Marci, son Evan and daughter Leah Lorna Denise Luine and her husband Greg, of Carlsbad, CA Stephanie Johnson Ross Johnson and his wife Kris Staci Belton and her husband Mike Dana Marie Roquet and her husband Joe, of Riverside, CA Jessica Sacalas and her husband Rob, son Aiden Joey Roquet and his wife Tiffany, son Joey Sarah Roquet Joshua Roquet Annie Roquet Dawn Renee Alverson and her husband Bobby, of Yucaipa, CA. PLACE AND TIME OF SERVICE
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday February 2, 2018, at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel at 35208 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa, CA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lorna’s name may be made to provide educational scholarships for children at Centers of Learning, 8854 Haskell Avenue, North Hills, CA 91343.
