Lou Ramirez

"Big" Lou Ramirez, age 66, of Loma Linda passed away at Redlands Community Hospital of Cancer related illness on April 11, 2010. Lou was born January 18, 1944 in Loma Linda. He was a graduate of Redlands High School, Class of 1962. He worked for Brookside Dairy from 1936-1966, Suverkrup Lumber Co from 1968-1997, and Sierra Wholesale from 1997-2007. Mr. Ramirez was a 10 year member of Redlands Elks Lodge #583 and a 50 year member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Big Lou is survived by his wife, Mary; Sons Louis Edward Ramirez (Yvette) II of Pueblo West, CO, Jamie Ramirez (Kathy) of Beaumont, CA; Father, Edward G. Ramirez of Yucca Valley, Ca; Brother, Martin J Ramirez of Mentone, Ca; and grandchildren Serena, Zachary, and Lexi. He was preceeded in death by his mother Annie Ramirez; sister, Cecelia Wingate; and Brother James Ramirez. Rosary will be Friday April 16, 2010, 9:30 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, followed by a Mass to be held at 10:00 AM. There will be a celebration of llife from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM at the Redlands Elks Lodge. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to a Scholarship Fund in Lou's name to be set up at Bank of America. Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands is handling the arrangements.
