Louis Emery Reese

Louis Emery Reese, was born August 22, 1937 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama to the late Carrie Mae Small and John Hubbard Reese. Louis Emory was the oldest child of eleven born. Emory as he was known to his family spent his childhood years in Cedar Bluff, Alabama where he was educated through High School. Before enrolled into the US Army where he served 21 years. He served his Country proudly with 2 terms to Vietnam, he received the Purple Heart for wounds he received Battery B, 1st Battalion 7th Artillery 1st Infantry Division. The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in around operation Vietnam during the period of 11 March 1967 to 14 April 1967. He successfully completed the CBR NCO Course given at Rose Barrads Bilsed, Germany. He had 2 Honorable Discharges the first in 1957 specialist Third Class RD. The second Honorable Discharge March 1970 Staff Sergeant E-6 Regular Army Artillery. He leaves to cherish warm memories, four daughters: Angela Snowden Reese of Diamond Bar, Yolanda D. Reese of Diamond Bar, CA, Greta Humphrey of California, and Stephanie (Kenneth) Humphrey of Norwalk, California; 12 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish three sisters, and four brothers, Cora Smith, Betty Lancaster of Redlands, CA, Marie Kendrick of Los Angeles, Ca., Charles Reese of Los Angeles, CA., Raymond Reese Lancaster of Texas, Herman (Bill) Reese of Redlands, CA., and David Reese of San Bernardino, CA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only son, Anthony Reese, one sister, Christine Parker (Reese), and two brothers, Alexander and Marvin Reese. Emory is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:00am with Service at 11:00am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands, California. Interment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery with Military Honors.
