Margaret Ann Edwards

April 23, 1929 — December 7, 2014

Margaret Ann Edwards (nee McNaughton) passed away on December 7, 2014, in Redlands, California. Born in Oakland, CA to the late Edward McNaughton and Frances Symons McNaughton, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Margie was raised in Oakland, California and graduated from Whitman College in Washington. She moved to San Francisco after college, met Kenneth Edwards at a boarding house and never looked back. They were married for 46 years until his passing in 1999. The couples they met in the boarding house remained life long friends through adventures, families, and many bottles of fine wine. A mother extraordinaire, she had leadership roles in PTA, scouts, sports teams and carpools. Her children and the neighborhood kids always found a supportive listening ear at her kitchen table as well as plenty of cake. Once the kids were launched, she went back to work at an accounting firm until her retirement. In retirement she was sought after to be the treasurer of every organization she joined because of her accuracy and finance skills. Grandma Margie could sing every Delta Gamma sorority song written, recite camp limericks and write poetry for any occasion. She and Ken travelled all over the world and ended up in Danville where they actually got along on the Crow Canyon golf course (so they said). She loved her girl friends, happy hour, New York Times crossword puzzles every day except Sunday and was the most gracious, selfless, and positive person we have ever known. She is survived by Carol Snodgress (Jim) of Redlands, CA and Robert Edwards (Leigh) of Dallas, TX. Grandchildren Sarah Eppehimer (Ryan), Michael Snodgress, Alston Edwards, Frances Edwards, Charles Edwards and great grandchild Caroline Eppehimer. A memorial honoring her life will be private. Margie will always be remembered by her family for her sense of humor and her warmth.
