Marian Squire

Marian was born on August 17, 1924 in Ely, Nevada to William Fredrick and Leeta McCune Squire. She passed away on December 11, 2014 at Loma Linda University Hospital in Loma Linda, California. She had lived in Nephi, Utah, Seattle and Tacoma, Washington, San Mateo, California, and Portland Oregon. Marian attended San Mateo Junior College and the University of California, Berkeley, where se received a Master's Degree in Psychiatric Social Work. She worked at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa before transferring to the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veteran's Medical Center in Loma Linda, California, where she created the P.O.W. Program that she helped establish in veteran hospitals from coast to coast. After retirement, Marian was able to be in her home in Loma Linda with help until she passed. She is survived by her brother, William Walcot Squire of Murrieta, California, and her three nephews, Scott Frederick Squire of Bountiful, Utah, Michael Wayne Squire of Charlotte, North Carolina and Ronald Gary Squire of Temecula, California.
