Our extended family is saddened to announce the passing of our amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend.
Born and raised in a small town in Germany, she was the only child of Willy and Maria Gingter. After WWII, Marianne graduated from medical school in an era when it was rare for any woman to reach upper-level education. She madly fell in love with fellow classmate, Rudolf, with whom she shared an ever-lasting bond. They were joyfully married for 59 years until his passing in 2013.
Marianne had a zest for life and fully dedicated her life to family. She loved reading and music, spending hours upon hours listening to her beloved husband on the piano. No matter where she was, if she heard swing music, it was impossible for her to sit still. Marianne also had a great passion for painting with oils and watercolors. Her many beautiful art pieces exemplify an appreciation for nature especially flowers. She also combined her art with incredible creativity to tell and write wonderful childrens stories.
We are grateful that Marianne is at peace. Marianne is survived by many who will always love her deeply - her four children Walter, Werner, Ralph, and Ingrid; daughters-in-law Gisela, Ellyn, Rita; 10 grandchildren and their partners Andrea (Niels), Julie (Dylan), Heidi, Max (Marlen), Eric (Christina), Karl (Sara), Anthony, Martin, Krista, Maria; and 4 great-grandchildren Hannah, Claire, Mercy, Elias; along with many, many other very special and long-time friends from California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Germany and beyond. Marianne-Mami-Oma will be greatly missed for her loving hugs, kisses, humor and positivity. Wir haben Dich so lieb!
Services will be held in Redlands, California where Marianne will be laid to rest next to her cherished Rudi. Contact us for details if you would like to attend. A Celebration of Life is planned in Colorado in the near future.
