Mario Cardoza

June 17, 1945 — July 9, 2016

Mario Cardoza passed away on July 9, 2016 in Fontana, CA of complications of the kidney and liver. A lifelong resident of Redlands, Mario was born in Mexicali, Mexico on June 17, 1945 to Manuel and Eusebia Cardoza.  Mario graduated from Redlands High School in 1963.  He retired from Teledyne Battery Products in Redlands after 40 years, where he served as an engineer.  Mario will always be known and remembered by those who knew and loved him as a caring and devoted family man. Mario enjoyed working on computers, science fiction, fishing, Angels baseball and spending time with his children, grandchildren and his family.  Mario is preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, Marilyn, his father Manuel, mother Eusebia and his brother Jose.  He is survived by his children David (Linda) Cardoza of Los Alamitos, CA, Kristy (Mike) Thompson of Beaumont, CA, and Anthony Cardoza of Mentone, CA.  Mario has 3 grandchildren, Ethan Griffithe (Kristy), Kara Cardoza (David) and Alec Cardoza (David), and 3 step-grandchildren, Ashleee Thompson, Cody Thompson and Kayla Thompson.  Mario is also survived by his brothers Manuel (Gloria) Cardoza, Ramiro (Beth) Cardoza, Michael Cardoza, Benito (Yolanda) Landin, Alfredo (Tina) Landin and Javier (Sabra) Landin, and by his sisters Juanita (Richard) Fuentes and Ruth Cardoza-Pagdilao and by many nieces and nephews.  There will be a viewing and memorial held July 18th at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Ave Redlands, California 92373, from 4 pm – 8 pm.  There will be a funeral mass held at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish (Also known as St. Mary’s) on 1205 Columbia St, Redlands, CA 92374 from 10 am – 11 am.  He will be interned at Hillside Memorial Park, 1540 Alessandro Rd, Redlands, CA 92373 immediately after the mass.  There will be a Life Celebration held at the American Legion Post 106, 814 W Colton Ave, Redlands, CA 92374, from 1:30 pm – 6:30 pm.  All who would like to celebrate Mario’s life are welcome.
