Marlene Anne McPeck, the loving mother of Thomas and Tim McPeck and a faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully in her sleep, shortly after reaching her 93rd birthday, surrounded by loved ones at her long-time home in Redlands. Besides her two sons, she also leaves four grandsons in Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John McPeck, her youngest son Jonathan, and her parents Herman and Anna Meyer.
Marlene was born on a ranch near Bertrand, Nebraska in 1931, and grew up with four siblings working her family farm. She graduated with a degree in Music from the University of Nebraska in 1953. She married her husband John in 1954 and they were happily married for over 60 years. She moved to Redlands with John in 1959, after living in Germany for a year, where she taught music at the American School in Frankfurt. Marlene loved music and later earned her Masters in Music degree from the University of Nebraska. She played the organ for services at Christ the King Lutheran Church for over 20 years, as well as teaching piano and organ lessons from her home. Marlene taught physical education and music for over 30 years in Redlands schools, both at Cope Junior High and the Redlands High School. After retiring, she explored the world with her husband John, traveling extensively for many years. Marlene loved reading the Bible and spending time in prayer every day with the Lord. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and bridge with her husband and friends. She was a devoted Christian and long-time member of Trinity Evangelical Church in Redlands.
Marlene was a wonderful and compassionate mother and a kind and gentle soul whom everybody loved, and her Christian faith was the focus of her life. We will miss her terribly, but are comforted that she is with the Lord now for
