Marvin J. Beasley passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the age of 90. Marv was a residence of Yucaipa, California since 1975. He was born in Long Beach California in October 1926 and was a retired Fire Captain from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, where he worked for 18 years. He previously worked as a Fireman for the Compton Fire Department and served the fire service community for a total of 22 years. In 1987, he completed the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Reserve Academy at age 60 and served as Watch Commander for the Yucaipa Station Citizens Patrol for 22 years. Marv was a World War II Veteran who served in the Navy as a Gunner’s Mate. He was a past President of the Yucaipa Lion’s Club and Past President of the Yucaipa Gun Club. Marv was an avid sportsman who enjoined hunting, fishing, competition shooting, and bowling. He was an active participant of the Senior Laughlin and Golden Agers Bowling Leagues at Empire Bowl.
Marv is survived by his wife Patricia; their sons Brad, Greg, and Danny; daughters Karen, Debbie, and Christine. Marv was greeted in Heaven by his sons Bruce, Kent, and David with his Parents Walter and Louise.
He had 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel located at 35208 Yucaipa Boulevard, ?Yucaipa, California 92399.
