Mary Ellen Clegg, longtime resident of Redlands, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2018.
She passed away peacefully at the age of 81.
Mary was born to Milton and Bessie Mae Graves on July 16, 1936, in Century City, Nebraska. In pursuit of her passion for aesthetics, Mary studied interior design at the University of California, Riverside. An accomplished artist, she received her Certification as a Decorative Painter from the National Society of Decorative Painters in 1984. She continued to paint and teach art classes for local chapters at national conventions well into the later years of her life.
Mary was dedicated to bringing health and happiness to the lives of others. She brought this passion to life as a member of the First Congregational Church of Redlands, where she served as a Deaconess. She loved family genealogy, antiquing, trying new recipes, and cutting fresh flowers from the yard. She was devoted to her family and strove to teach them her Christian values by example.
Mary lives on in the hearts and memories of her husband of 61 years, Weldon Clegg; her two daughters, Karen Clegg and Cynthia Renier, her son-in-law Jeffrey Renier, her four grandchildren Daniel F. Clegg, Ashley Jodoin, Robert Renier, and Matthew Renier; her brother Stephen Graves; and nieces and nephews. She also had the love of countless friends. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Daniel W. Clegg.
Mary, you will be missed beyond words by those whose lives you touched. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
