Mavis Rose Wallace was born into the Ballard family on May 23, 1928 in the small Texas town of Crosbyton, the youngest of five children. As a spunky 16 year old, she moved to Southern California where she lived until her sudden death in Loma Linda, December 14, 2013. During her 85 years, she was married to Carlton Wallace for 48 years, who predeceased her in 1996, and was mother to their children, son Rick Wallace, son David Wallace and his wife Kris of Redlands, and daughter Nancy Ternasky of Yucaipa. She was a beautiful example of creativity and was known for her passion for gardening, devotion to her church, Emmanuel Baptist, and love of God. She was most admired for her steadfast care of her disabled son, Rick. In addition to her children, she is survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many devoted friends. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Chapel, Highland.
