Milton Joseph Frink, affectionately known as Joe, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, at the age of 76. Born in Redlands, California, on August 7, 1947. Joe was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown. He grew up on the family ranch, cultivating a deep love for Redlands' renowned oranges, and graduated from Redlands High School in 1965.
In 1967, Joe answered the call of duty and enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served honorably in the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, Patricia Jo Stewart, in 1972. Together, they built a fulfilling life in Redlands, where Joe dedicated 25 years of service to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department. Starting as a deputy, Joe worked his way through the ranks, serving in various stations and jails throughout the county, and retired as a respected sergeant in 1997.
Joe's passion for community involvement was evident through his active participation in numerous clubs and organizations. He was a proud 40-year member of the Redlands Elks Lodge and a key member of the Redlands Veteran Committee, where he worked tirelessly to support his fellow veterans. He was also involved in Corvettes West and the Over the Hill Gang, where he formed lasting friendships and shared his love for classic cars. In his later years, Joe devoted himself to the Two Canyons Conservatory, tirelessly advocating for the preservation of his ancestral home, the Frink Adobe, as a historic relic for future generations to cherish.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Kenneth and Ollie Lou Frink, and his sister, Carolyn Rickert. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patty Frink, and their two daughters, Lisa Kostiuk and Tricia Elton, along with their husbands, Kris Kostiuk and Dan Elton. Joe also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Daniel Elton, Erika Elton, Joely Kostiuk, Chloe Kostiuk, Jackson Kostiuk, Aubrey Elton, and Leah Elton, and one great-grandson, Jordan Elton.
Joe's legacy of dedication, service, and love for his community will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him.
