Myron Phillip Forbes, born August 10, 1917, quietly passed into to the arms of his ancestors on August 20, 2011 at the age of 94. He was the son of John Phillip Forbes and Ellen Bolletta Anderson Forbes. Myron outlived two lovely and faithful wives; Violet Anna Bushell Forbes and Avon Buford Forbes. He had four children with Vi: Anne Hall (deceased), Castle Rock, CO, (Robert); Sue FaAfete, Layton UT; Mike Forbes (deceased) Clearfield UT, (formerly married to Vicki Overstreet); and Patricia Bingham, Juneau, AK,(Boyce). He was honored to be the father of three foster children: Joe BeGay, Castle Dale, UT, (Shirley); Bernadine Augustine, Farmington, NM, (Phil); and Rosilyn Sandoval (deceased) NM, (Robert). He also had the privilege of sharing Avon s three children: Toni Elarbee, Yucaipa, CA (Theo), Scott Clark, Cape Elizabeth, Maine (Marty); and Rusty Bassett, Vista, CA (Cathy). Myron leaves a legacy of 34 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren at this time. He is survived by his sisters: Elma Thurgood, Syracuse, UT; Carla McCann, San Diego, CA; and Shirley Wood, Layton, UT. Myron was born in Kaysville, UT in his grandmother Anderson s home. He grew up, and lived most of his life in Clearfield, UT, until his marriage to Avon at which time he relocated to Redlands, CA. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a lover of learning, and an extraordinary farmer and gardener. Myron was a member of The American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars having been drafted into the army near the end of WWII. On his honorable discharge, he obtained a job at the old Ogden Arsenal (UT) and later transferred to Hill Air Force Base (UT) where he retired 33 years later. In January of 2008 Myron and Avon moved to Yucaipa to live with their beloved daughter, Toni. Shortly afterward Avon passed away; Toni has faithfully cared for Myron since that time. Visitation will be at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel located at 703 Brookside Ave, Redlands on Friday August 26, 2011 from 5-7 PM. Services will be held at the LDS Redlands 3rd Ward Chapel, 1021 E. Pioneer Ave, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27th. Myron will be interred next to Avon at Montecito Memorial Park Cemetery on East Washington St. in Colton.
