Patricia Frances Nelson
March 28, 1953 – September 19, 2022
Patricia Frances Nelson – a family-first matriarch through and through and an avid foodie and fan of Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, the celebrity/entertainment scene, movies and basketball -- passed away on September 19, 2022 at Loma Linda University Health at the age of 69.
Patricia was born in Malaysia on March 28, 1953 and spanned the globe during her formative years, also living in Cyprus and England, the latter of where she was mostly raised. She met her first husband while in England, got married in San Clemente, Calif. in 1973, and Patricia spent the rest of her life as an Inland Empire (California) resident beginning in 1974. She lived in Highland for, approximately, her last 45 years.
Patricia began her career in the real estate industry by working for First American Title in the mid-1980s, and she was consistently among the company’s top selling agents in Southern California. She eventually transitioned into a career as a mortgage loan officer, working for various loan companies over, approximately, the last 30 years of her professional career. Additionally, she obtained her real estate license in the early 2000s and occasionally represented home buyers and sellers.
Patricia’s legacy continues in Southern California through her three children (Damian Secore, Lavinia Chacon and Garrett Nelson), her daughter-in-law Danielle Secore, and five grandchildren (Hope, Kaiya and Sage Chacon and Phoenix and Parker Nelson). Abroad, she is survived by all of her siblings in brothers Arthur and Doug Mackinnon and sisters Maureen, Gladys and Liz Mackinnon and Juliette Schott – all of whom reside in England -- as well as nieces Carly Schott and Natalie Mackinnon and nephews Mark Winch, Justin Schott and Dylan Ryan.
Patricia was a long-time supporter of The Scleroderma Foundation of California and her family suggests a donation be made in the name of Patricia Nelson to the foundation.
