Patricia J. Thompson peacefully passed away at age 95 on Monday, December 5th, 2022 at the Roseville Care Center in Roseville, CA.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Thompson; son, Douglas Thompson; Daughter-in-Law, Michelle Thompson; and granddaughters, Jennifer, Kadie and Whitney; as well and many nieces and nephews.
Pat was born in Flint Michigan on September 14th 1927 to Alfred and Lillian Smith. After graduating from the Adelthian Academy, she attended Nursing School at The Washington Sanitarium, in Takoma Park, D.C. She graduated in 1950, and then went to work at Hurley Hospital in Michigan as an Operating Room nurse. She there met her husband, William P. Thompson, MD and they married October 15th, 1955. They had three children, Bill, Doug, and Susan and raised them in Loma Linda & Redlands, California.
Pat was predeceased by her parents; brother, David; former husband, Bill; and her beloved son, William David Thompson, who died from cancer in 2011.
Pat had an open heart, a quiet voice, and gentle manner. She was elegant and understated. She really enjoyed being a mother and loved her three children dearly. The Thompson house was a “meeting place” for her children’s friends when they were all in high school. Everyone loved Mrs. Thompson and felt so welcomed in her home and kitchen.
Patricia also had a kin eye for color and was a talented painter. Many of her pieces hung in her home throughout the years.
Most importantly, Pat was a Christian and member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She read spiritual writings and scripture every day and was at peace when God called her home.
