Pearl Ruth Cass was born July 27, 1916 and passed away May 1, 2011. She was 94 years old. Pearl was born in Geddes, South Dakota. Her parents were Ella Haugen Antonsen and Paul Antonsen. Pearl spent her childhood in South Dakota and graduated from Geddes High School in 1936. After high school Pearl moved to Riverside, CA to be with her sister, Alice. After a year Pearl moved to Portland, OR and married Lloyd E. Cass. She and Lloyd moved to Glendale, CA in the late 1940 s and raised their son and daughter there. Pearl was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Glendale for many years. After Pearl and Lloyd retired they moved to Redlands in 1980. Pearl was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Redlands and enjoyed greeting and attending the 8:00 O clock service. Pearl will be remembered for her love of crafting, succulent and cactus gardening and restoring antique furniture. She was loved by her family, friends and all who knew her. Pearl was especially loved by care givers at Wildwood Canyon Villa in Yucaipa where she lived in recent years. Pearl was preceeded in death by her husband Lloyd E. Cass and daughter Geraldine Johnson. She is survived by her son Lloyd Cass (Judi), three grandsons, two granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pearl is also survived by her sisters, Alice Dodd, Loma Linda, CA Annette Hysell, Neosho, MO, brother Dean Antonsen, Black Hawk, South Dakota, sisters-in-laws Dorothy Antonsen, La Crescenta, CA, Ila Vae Antonsen, Platte, South Dakota and Bernadine Antonsen, Platte, South Dakota. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 6, at 11:00 am at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, CA.
