Phyllis Biggs Davis

January 27, 1936 — November 27, 2015

Phyllis Davis (79) passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 from a heart attack. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 61 years, Donald Davis, and their three children Douglas, Brooks, and Andrea. Phyllis was also a proud grandmother to Tyler and Brandon Davis (Brooks’ children).

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Barbara Biggs.

Phyllis was born January 27, 1936, in Seattle, WA, the oldest of three children, including her sister Pamela and brother Edward. Phyllis was 11 when their family moved to Redlands.

Phyllis graduated from Redlands High School (1954), where she met the love of her life. Don and Phyllis were married on the 12th of February 1955. Together, Don and Phyl became active members of the Redlands community. An accomplished artist working in oil paints and in clay pottery, Phyllis and several of her friends formed the Andiamo Club, which is still active today.

Phyllis, Don, and their children were also active tennis players and swimmers and were members of the Redlands Swim and Tennis Club. Later, Phyllis and Don became members of the Horticultural Society and often volunteered for the Club’s annual garden events.

Phyl and Don shared a great love for animals, especially Scottish Terriers, and became members of the Southern California Scottish Terrier Association and Rescue. Because of this love, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Scottish Terrier Club of America Rescue (http://bit.ly/1Q7Zoof).

Phyl’s memorial service will be held on December 19, 2015 at 11 am, at Emmerson- Bartlett Mortuary, located at 703 Brookside Ave., Redlands, CA 92373. It is on the corner of Center St. and Brookside Ave. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the memorial service, at the Elks Lodge located at 663 New York St., Redlands, CA 92373.
