Phyllis Lee Merson

Phyllis Lee Merson, 85, passed away on Wednesday July 30, 2015, at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda California. Phyllis was born in Los Angeles, California to Marvin and Marjorie Putnam on April 16, 1930. She graduated from Washington High School in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart, James Donald Merson, from Avalon California in 1948. Phyllis was a full time mother and homemaker who loved to read her bible, mystery novels and spend time with her family. In 1990 Phyllis and Jim built their Victorian style dream home in Yucaipa where they lived happily together until Jim's passing in 1999. Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church of Yucaipa and continued to live in her Yucaipa home surrounded by helpful neighbors until the time of her passing. Phyllis is survived by her sister Barbara Falkenstien and her husband Durward of La Cresenta, California, son Robert Merson and his wife Yvonne of Oceanside, California, daughter Debra Pellegrini and her husband Steve of Yerington, Nevada and her five grandsons, Derek Merson, Alexander Merson, Aaron Pellegrini, Evan Pellegrini and Julian Pellegrini. Graveside services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery, Redlands California.
