Our beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, Preston Paul Krause, took his last breath on
Sunday, March 19, 2023. Preston was born in Newport Beach at Hoag Hospital on March 14,
2000.
Preston lived most of his life in Upland, California, where he attended Magnolia
Elementary and Pioneer Junior High, and later graduated from Claremont High School.
In his short life of 23 years, he enjoyed skateboarding, music, specifically playing his bass,
skiing, snowboarding, and woodworking. During his youth, Preston played soccer at AYSO. In
the years following Preston’s high school graduation, he attended welding school and later
became an ironworker.
Preston is survived by his parents, Paul and Jennifer Krause, his
siblings, Lily and Luke Krause, and his grandparents, David and Connie Krause.
Preston fought a long and enduring battle with addiction. After several courageous attempts at
sobriety, Preston lost the battle.
We will always remember Preston as the creative and talented man that he was, and we will
forever miss his tenacious laughter and his passion and curiosity for life.
So rest our angel, be at peace, and let your soul fly free. One day we’ll join your glorious flight
for all eternity.
Until we meet again…
The family will be holding a public memorial service at the Claremont United Church of Christ at
1pm on Friday, March 31st.
Preston’s final resting place will be at Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont, California.
