Randall Lee Jones

April 16, 1949 — February 27, 2023

On the evening of Feb. 27, 2023 Randall (Randy) Jones went home to be with our Lord. He had dementia

since 2018 and a stroke in June of 2019 so grateful that he is no longer suffering. He will be missed

everyday by those who loved him.

Randy was born to Lily Emileen Wilkin Jones and Clyde Wesley Jones in California on April 16, 1949. He

grew up in South Gate, Ca. He made lots of friends some whom he still has to this day. He attended

South Gate High School and graduated from Downey Adult School. Later he attended College and

received his Life/Auto Insurance License. He sold life insurance until 2018. His clients loved him.

Randy loved baseball and the Dodgers from the beginning. His mother would drop him off as a boy to

watch them play. Later Randy loved coaching Little League. He played soft ball up until 2018. His other

sports teams were the Lakers, and the Rams.

Randy’s greatest love were his children Dorian and Adrienne. He was very proud of them and made sure

to spend all holidays and birthdays with them. He was so happy when his grandson Michael was born.

For a time, he got to babysit him which made him very happy.

Everywhere that Randy went people called him Elvis. Elvis was one of the great loves of his life which

started with a chance encounter when he was seven years old. He was at the Pike when he saw a crowd

surrounding Elvis at the baseball pitch game. His brother told him to go ask Elvis for a teddy bear. He

went up and tugged on Elvis's sleeve and asked him. Although he did not get the teddy bear, he never

forgot that moment. Randy collected all of Elvis’s records, movies, and memorabilia for the rest of his

life. He would sing Elvis’s songs with the bands that played at the local clubs which was one of the

highlights of his life.

Randy would always say the Movie Dirty Dancing changed his life. He started going to the dance clubs

and the girls would fight over who got to dance certain songs with him. This is where he met his wife to

be in 2003. They would go out dancing every weekend until he wasn’t able to any more.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Lily, and Clyde, brother Ronnie, and sister Kathy. He is

survived by his children Dorian, Adrienne, grandson Michael, brother Carson, wife Paula, niece Jennifer,

nephew Brian and their children.

Randy was one of those people that if you had the honor to meet you will never forget him. He and Elvis

are probably singing and dancing up in Heaven.
