Professor Randall Lynn Wright, age 61, of Crestline, California, made his way to peace, surrounded by love and family on October 19, 2014 after a long, arduous and, sometimes, a surprisingly hopeful journey with lung cancer. Randall was born in London Ontario Canada, August 8, 1953, to Kathleen McCormick and George Wright. He graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Canada and obtained his Ph.D. of Philosophy in Education at University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Randall took pride in being a Professor at California State University of San Bernardino in the College of Education, where he was greatly respected and appreciated by students and staff. He was well-known for his advocacy in Correctional Education, working in collaboration with his colleagues and good friends, Professors Thom Gehring, Carolyn Eggleston and Bill Muth. He was an accomplished international author who felt honored to work within his chosen field, surrounded and challenged by all these amazingly talented minds. He is survived and will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved children, Christina and Kevin Wright; his cherished wife, Patricia Tansey-Wright; his brothers, Craig Wright (Lana Quinn, Trevor and Marilaine, Taurie and James, niece Maddy, nephews Jackson and Cooper) and Cameron Mitchell; his sisters, Pamela (Jim, nephews Austin and Travis) and Angela Mitchell. Randall is also survived by his wife s family who has always loved him as a brother in his own right. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Randall s memory to the Dr. Randall Lynn Wright Memorial Scholarship @ www.gofundme.com/g1aeuo Randall wanted to express his profound gratitude to all of his caring family-team of hospice and oncology professionals, including Dr. Tsang at Beaver Medical Clinic, Dr. Karimyi at Wilshire Oncology, Redlands Community Hospice and the most incredible nurses who shared his journey with great compassion, warmth and understanding. A service will be held on Friday October 24, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, 703 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, CA 92373
