Raymond Leonard Williams was born on June 28,1923 and passed from this life on July 02, 2014. He was the second child of Louis M and Anne R (Danforth) Williams. Born in Plainview, Texas, he learned the value of hard work growing up during the great depression and dust bowl days on the plains of New Mexico and Texas. He proudly served his country in Hawaii during the war years of 1943 to 1945. Ray held a variety of jobs during his lifetime. He was most proud of the time spent in civil service at McClellan Airbase and the many service organizations that benefited from the time he served. Although he was married twice, he never had any children of his own. Ray did become father, grandfather, and great grandfather to the children of his first wife, Justine (Jerry) Clark Williams. After the passing of Jerry he later married Eleanor Merritt and lived out the remainder of his life in Calimesa. He was preceded in death by both of his wives, his siblings: Minnie Williams, Bonnie Fagan, Milton Williams, Edgar Williams, and Wallace Williams; and his step sons: Theo, Joe, and Ronny Clark. Ray is survived by his step grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ray was a member of the Yucaipa church of Christ. A memorial will be held in his honor on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 11:00 am at the Yucaipa church of Christ. Burial to be at Rose Hills in Whittier with military honors.
