Richard Byron Stevens, Jr.

RICHARD BYRON STEVENS, JR of Yucaipa, CA, passed away at home with his family at his bedside, on August 11, 2014. Rick was born February 21, 1947 in Riverside, CA to Richard and Jean Stevens. Rick lived in the Riverside and San Bernardino counties for over 50 years. Rick served in the United States Air Force. Rick s passions were his family, media ministries at Loma Linda University Church and golf. Rick married his amazing wife and soul mate 5 years ago, they enjoyed traveling and vacationing with family. Rick always burst with pride when talking about his daughters and their accomplishments. Rick never missed a week of golf in the last 30 years and he dedicated his Sabbaths to Media Ministries. Rick fought a valiant battle with cancer for the last 4 years and maintained all of his activities which included scheduling his treatments around his golf game. He is survived by his wife Barbara Hillock Stevens; daughter Kam Uli, her husband James and grandchildren Emerson and Rebecca of Temecula, CA; daughter Brittany Stevens of Loma Linda, CA; daughter Paige Stevens of Loma Linda, CA and sister Linda Merica and her husband Steve of Medford, OR. A memorial service will be held at Loma Linda University Church on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to Loma Linda University Church or in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Media Ministries, Loma Linda University Church.
