Richard Howard Bise

Richard Howard Bise 1933-2012 Richard Bise passed away on May 25, 2012 in Yucaipa California. He was born in Redlands on October 28, 1933 to Elmer and Maude Bise of California. He grew up in Yucaipa and went on to graduate high school from Redlands High School in 1952. Richard chose to go into the National Guard during his senior year of high school and was sent to active duty in Korea and Japan. After returning from Asia he worked for California Fish and Game attending Valley College until he was hired by the San Bernardino County Sheriffs. He was part of the first Sheriffs Academy. In 1962 he was sent to work in 29 Palms substation. He met Dr. William Ince 2 months after at a Search and Rescue Meeting. The good Doctor invited him to his home where he met his future Wife Susan. They were than married on November 10, 1962 and in 1969 their son Richard arrived followed by their daughter Jennifer in 1972. After years of service with 29 Palms substation where he was than promoted to detective in 1969. He was then promoted to Sergeant in 1973 and than transferred to Central in San Bernardino after several years of service he retired in 1986. He was the founding member of Yucaipa Historical Society and The San Bernardino County Sheriff Historical Society. He was the first president of the Sheriff Historical Society. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Susan Ince Bise, of Yucaipa, California; and their 2 children. Richard and his wife Deirdre of Auburn, California and there three children daughter Gwyneth (8) , son Wolfgang (7) step daughter Sage (19); and Richard s daughter Jennifer and her husband Brandy Kates of Fullerton, California and their daughter Daisy age 9. There will be a short Service at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California on Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Remembrance gathering at 12:30 pm at Flag Hill Park, in Yucaipa, (Yucaipa Blvd and Fremont Ave). In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Desert Trail and Yucca Valley Paper. Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel 35208 Yucaipa Blvd., Yucaipa is assisting the family.
