Robert Bob Spires

Robert Bob Allen Spires died Dec. 21, 2013. Born Feb. 17, 1942, in Kan sas to Clinton and Dortha Spires, he was the youngest of five children. He moved to the Riverside area as a child and graduated from Ramona High School in 1959, where he lettered in Football. Bob moved to the Yucaipa area in 1970, where he remained until he passed away. Bob was the owner of Spires Automotive in Yucaipa from 1997 to his retirement in 2006. Before that, he had worked at Carl s Auto Repair in Yucaipa for many years. Bob was active in the Yu caipa Lion s Club for many years as well. He was fond of watching Yucaipa High School football games, and an active supporter of all things YHS. He was a great husband and father, and the proudest pa pa, who will be greatly missed. Bob is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Spires; four children Jimmy (Christine) Foster, Steven Foster, Tracy (Steve) Sunkes, and Robert Pauley, mother-in-law Betty Thompson; grandchildren Lindsay (Terrel) Brady, Joshua Pauley, Katie Foster, Timothy Sunkes, and Thomas Foster; great grandchildren Levi and Natalie Brady, along with his oldest brother Virgil Spires; sister in law Barbara Spires; brother in law Don Harrelson; sister in law Gayle Turpin and many, many nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, brother Bill Spires, sister Anna Mae Harrelson, and brother Hank Spires. A Celebration of Life has been planned for Friday, Jan. 17, at noon at the Yucaipa Community Center at 34900 Oak Glen Rd.
