Robert Emery Mcconnell

Robert Emery McConnell September 18, 1946 - November 10, 2021 Robert McConnell, age 75, of Lake Arrowhead, California, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2021. Known to all of us as Bob, he had been struggling with a number of illnesses preceding his death. Bob had many passions in life besides his family, including his many softball teams. He was revered for his sportsmanship on his team and an admirer of the opponents. He and his wife Lucina were longtime members of the Lake Arrowhead Country Club playing golf and bridge with friends. Bob loved Lake Arrowhead (was a resident for 25 years) and made four little lending libraries for the mountain communities. Lake Arrowhead Rotary projects benefited from Bob’s polar plunges and fundraisers for the Rim HS band. Bob, a University of Tennessee graduate, was an unwavering devoted Vols fan for life. Bob is profoundly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his wife Lucina McConnell, Bob is survived by his brother George McConnell in South Carolina, and his three daughters Christine Besnard, her husband Mike and their two daughters Madison and Cayla; daughter Elisa Borges, her husband Frank and her daughter Hannah, and daughter Heather McConnell in Lake Arrowhead, many extended family of beloved sisters and brothers in law. Treasured memories are shared by all of Bob’s family and friends. His competitive spirit, love of sports, a world divided into orange and all the rest of the colors, musical talent, kindness to everyone, devotion to family, care and treatment of animals, gardening with flowers anxiously planted and then wilted by a late surprise snow, and mostly his generous heart and infectious laughter.
