Robert Evans Bob Martin

Robert (Bob) Martin of Yucaipa, CA, formerly of Florence, OR, passed away at home on May 27th, 2011, with his family present. Bob was born April 5th, 1934 in Birmingham, AL, and resided there until he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1953. After he left the Air Force he married Jeanne in 1961, and they resided in Covina, CA until they moved to Yucaipa, CA in 1969. They moved to Morgan Hill, CA in 1977 where they went into business with friends. Bob retired as a plant manager in the sheet metal industry. He attended Florence Christian Church, and during his lifetime he was President of the Citrus Amateur Radio Club, member of the Elks, Jaycees, and Historical Society of Morgan Hill. He worked with the Cub Scouts, and assisted Jeanne with Girl Scouts camping trips. He enjoyed weaving, antique toy collecting, and camping and fishing. Bob & Jeanne were members of the RV Clun in Florence, and RV d full time during their retirement. Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanne, married nearly 50 years, daughter Kim (Johnson) of Yucaipa, CA, son-in-law, Bob, and son, Jeff, of Gilroy, CA. He had 3 granddaughters, Amanda Johnson, Alison Johnson, Megan Cuy Castellanos and husband Willy, and great-granddaughter, Aurora. He is also survived by sister, Carolyn Bayles, brothers, William Martin and Fred Martin, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Mary Martin, and sister, Dorothy Lancaster. Bob will be remembered as a kind, loving, gentle soul. The memorial service will held at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 1st, 2011, at 2:00pm and interment willbe held on Thursday, June 2nd, 2011 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Covina Hills. Family under the care of Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa, CA.
