Robert Holmes Clark “Bob,” 89, longtime resident of Mountain Home Village, Forest Falls, and Yucca Valley, passed on December 13th 2014. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lee Ann Clark, and his first wife, Shannon Mendez; his 2 sons, 4 daughters, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, as well as predeceased by 2 sons. He attended Redlands High School until being drafted in to World War II. Mr. Clark landed on Utah Beach June 7th, 1944 with the Company E, 22nd Infantry, 4th Division. He achieved Staff Sergeant, and received a Purple Heart during the Battle of Hurtgen Forest. After the war, his jobs included working for the Igo’s Store, Dolly Varden Fish Hatchery, Forest Home Christian Conference Center, Redlands Unified School District, and the State of California Transportation Department. He was Co-Founder and Commissioner of the Valley of the Falls Search and Rescue Team and an Original Member of the Forest Falls Fire Protection District, both of which he served on for over 20 years. In addition to his lifelong career as a mechanic, his love and interests also included racing Jalopys and Midgets, watching NASCAR, collecting and working on classic cars, traveling and visiting family and friends. A visitation will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands, California on December 23 from 11-12 PM followed by a graveside service at Riverside National Cemetery at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Valley of the Falls Search and Rescue Team in Forest Falls, California, under his name.
