Robert James Kennedy

Robert (Bob) James Kennedy, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 20, 2017 on his 89th birthday with his beloved wife of 67 years by his side. Bob was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 20, 1928 to Lillian and Leo Kennedy. He graduated from Bemidji High School in Minnesota in 1947 where he was active in football, basketball and baseball. Bob and his wife, high school sweethearts, moved to California in 1950, settling in Redlands, California in 1957 where they lived in the same home for almost 60 years. Bob was in sales for most of his life, first in the cosmetic industry and in later years health foods and supplements.
He was well known for his great love of family, sense of humor, and his ability to relate to everyone he ever met, making them feel special and important with his witty charm and his genuine interest in all people. He enjoyed golf and relished watching his grandsons play sports of any kind. He was forever their biggest fan.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, siblings Patricia Dodge and Thomas Kennedy. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; children, Sherri Bishop (Dave), Kim Day (Jerry), Kelly Ducey (Jim), Mike Kennedy, and Kari Beatty (Jim); seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and brother Dennis Kennedy (Martha).
A Mass will be held for Bob at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 115 W Olive Street in Redlands on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:30 am. Recitation of the rosary will be at 10:30 am before mass on the 21st. Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 11:00 am, Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 22, 2017, 703 Brookside Ave, Redlands, CA. Reception to immediately follow at the family home in Redlands.
