Robert N. (Bob) Crum

April 19, 1914 — June 27, 2010

Robert N. Crum (Bob) went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 27 at 3:24 am in Newton, Iowa. He entered this world on April 19, 1914 in Inglewood, California. He met Eva Grace Penman in Inglewood High School and they married in June 1939. They celebrated their 71st anniversary before he departed this earth at age 96. Bob was a resident, building contractor, and volunteer fireman in Redlands 1945 -1965. He was very active in his church and the CBMC. After working as superintendent of buildings and grounds for Azusa Pacific College, Bob & Grace travelled with SOWERS doing construction projects. They moved to Colorado for a time then to northern California. After they settled in Yucaipa in 1998 Bob was diagnosed with Parkinson s disease. Bob was active in the Gideon Camp, was a Black Mountain Lookout Host and volunteered at the Lutheran Braille Workers, Inc. Operations Center. In 2006 they moved to Iowa so their daughter could help with their care. Family members who are here to honor him are: his wife Eva Grace, daughter & son-in-law Eloise & John Prater of Iowa, son & daughter-in-law Bill & Arlene Crum of Janesville, CA, and son & daughter-in-law Glenn & Florence Crum of Redlands. Bob leaves seven grandchildren and spouses: Ron & Melissa Crum, Tammy & Marvin Benner, Dale Crum, Debby & Jerome Winn all of CA, Timothy & Rhonda Prater of TX, Larry(Zach) & Amy Crum of WA, and James & Patti Prater of NE, twelve great grandchildren, his youngest brother and wife Phil & Betty Crum of La Mirada, CA, and eight nieces & nephews. The family welcomes anyone who wants to join the Celebration of Life for Bob on Saturday, July 10 from 11 am-1 pm at the Brookside Free Methodist Church on Tennessee St in Redlands, CA. There will be food, fellowship and a time of sharing. Interment will be in the Crum family plot in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, CA. Emerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa, is handling the arrangements. Donations may be made to the Gideons or to Lutheran Braille Workers, Inc.
